Click, Create and Collaborate: Description

Click, Create and Collaborate is a unique professional development program that places the school librarian in a leadership position - supporting teachers and students as they learn the new 21st Century tools for information literacy. In addition to teaching students and teachers how to navigate information, libraries have now become a place where students go to create and produce products using Web 2.0 tools such as podcasts, videos, animoto, glogsters, wikis, blogs and more!

The grant recipients will receive a Flip video camera, a Logitech wecam and a copy of Choosing Web 2.0 Tools for Teaching and Learning in a Digital World (Pam Berger, Libraries Unlimited, 2010). Librarians will participate in a learning network, Spruz, to share ideas, resources, websites, post videos and to offer support to each other. A project Wiki will be created to share curriculum units, instructional videos and other project materials.

Click, Create and Collaborate addresses the need for continuing education and training that allows school librarians to become full teaching partners in the implementation and integration of Web 2.0 tools.
